Glen Allen continued
The main issue for me is the noise. Seems I am the only person in my set of homes that can clearly hear my neighbors snore and yawn and you know. Not faintly clearly. the wall attached to my neighbors has a constant buzzing, we hear each other getting up in the morning, coming in If I go to my front door I can hear them run to there window to look out. On my side you can push the drywall in and hear it creak, you can even hear if someone plugs something into the electrical socket. I am never comfortable in my home. Ryan homes has come out 3 times about the wall to inspect it they never touch the wall they just look at it cross their arms and say it is to county code. Finally I called the county and the county state that they did not inspect the wall as it was being built, but Ryan homes hired an outside engineer and they went on his report. The county strongly suggest that I hire an engineer with acoustic ability to test the wall. It is so evident that you don't need an engineer. We can hear the highway traffic running through this wall as well as the trains coupled with the snoring %%^^^@#@ I joke with my neighbor that I have to time my breathing to his snoring and pretend that I am madly in love with him to fall asleep. Trust me he is not my type. Seriously this is a huge problem they told me I could put insulation in at my cost and they would fix the wall back. I told them when I purchased I was told I would "not hear anything through those walls". Also I was told there is the drywall insulation party wall and insulation, so why would one need to put in insulation if it is suppose to be there already. I was also told after saying that I was going to put a hole in the wall that I could not because it would be against county fire code, and was bluntly told I could not put a hole in it. I would get into trouble. Well wouldn't you have to put a whole in it to add insulation? Now it is really bad as well as more leaks, and ground sinking, etc. This place looks great but the quality is awful I just started painting and there is not a straight wall in the whole place okay maybe the main floor hall bathroom. perfect square. What do I do now? Just laid off so no extra money and I am so angry with them or maybe I am so sleepy I have not had a full night sleep in 2+ years. My other neighbors have come over to listen and they laugh, it is not funny. I am in Glen Allen, Va. Great townhouse community but terrible quality. I really need to have this resolved but how do I afford legal action and I don't understand why they just don't fix it. Please any suggestions please let me know.
